Description

Vintage Japanese scoop (zaru) featuring a metal wire mesh bound into shape with bamboo slats.  These old tools were commonly used in Japan as a strainer or for other tasks such as scooping rice.  This old tool dates from the early to mid 20th century and is in fair condition with marks and scratches from past use.  The wire mesh is also rusted and for this reason we recommend this item as a display piece only.
