Description

Beautiful Japanese ceramic display statue (okimono) of a Japanese Akita dog (ken) posed in a strong and proud posture.  This okimono is in fine condition with no chips or cracks though there are some small marks from handling and past display.  This statue dates from the late Japanese Showa period (1926-1989) or earlier and was acquired in the historic city of Shizuoka, Japan near the foot of Mt. Fuji.
